طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

“Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.”

Membership

Who can become a member?
Any Muslim resident in Perth or wider Western Australia can apply. Membership covers the immediate family unit as agreed at the time of application.
Is there a waiting period after I join?
Membership is active from the date of confirmation by the committee, provided the annual contribution has been paid. There is no separate waiting period.
What if I miss an annual payment?
We will write to you. If a contribution is missed without communication, membership lapses — but reinstatement is straightforward. Speak with us.
Can I add or remove family members later?
Yes. Family circumstances change — children grow, marriages happen, parents move closer. Email us with the changes and we will update your record.

Services & fees

What is included in the fee?
Coordination, transport, ghusl and kafan, janazah, burial, and family follow-up. There are no separate charges. The fee published is the fee paid.
Are there hardship arrangements?
Yes. No Muslim family is turned away from a dignified burial because of cost. Speak with us — these conversations are private and held with respect.
Do you serve non-Muslims?
Our services are specifically for Muslim burials in accordance with Islamic rites. For non-Muslim families seeking Perth services, we are happy to point toward appropriate providers.

Bereavement procedure

How quickly can a burial happen?
Islamic tradition prefers burial within 24 hours of death where practicable. We aim for the earliest dignified burial that paperwork, family availability, and cemetery scheduling permit.
What if the death is referred to the Coroner?
Coroner cases involve additional steps and may delay burial by some days. We will guide the family through the process and remain in close contact.
Can the family attend the ghusl?
Same-gender family members are welcome to attend if they wish. Many families choose not to — this is entirely a personal decision and either is valid.
Where are Muslim burials performed in Perth?
Perth has dedicated Islamic sections at several cemeteries. We coordinate the booking based on availability and family preference.
